Through Embodia, you can communicate with your patients through two-way messaging. By default, this feature is disabled on your account. Learn how to enable messaging in the help article Enabling two-way messaging and patient notes on exercise programs.
On Embodia, patients can message practitioners in 2 ways:
- By leaving notes on an exercise in their program.
- By starting a new conversation or responding to an existing conversation with their practitioner.
Note: Practitioners and patients can message using the Embodia web app or mobile app, the images and instructions below are what practitioners and patients using the web app would see.
Method 1: Exercise program notes
From their prescribed exercise program, a patient can leave notes and comments for their practitioner by typing them into the notes box below the exercise and marking the exercise as completed.
If you have selected to be notified if your patients add new notes to their programs, you will receive an email letting you know about the note. You can click the link in the email to view the note and respond to it.
More information about replying to patient notes can be found in our lesson, Replying to patient notes.
Method 2: My conversations
From their dashboard, a patient can navigate to My conversations > New conversation. The patient can also click on any existing conversations to reply to an existing conversation with their practitioner.
The patient then fills in the Subject and Message, and presses Send to submit.
This is what the message they sent looks like from their dashboard:
Once the patient submits the message, you will see a number (i.e. 1 means one message, 2 for two messages, etc.) appear beside HEP in your dashboard.
To view the conversation, click on HEP > My conversations.
You will then see the existing conversations with all your patients and a number on the right side of the new message.
You can respond to your patient's message by clicking on the hyperlinked message subject. Type your response, and click Send.
Your message and conversation will look like this:
Your patient will then receive an email letting them know that you have sent them a message. They will also see an icon beside My conversations on their dashboard.
